Wedding Photography - Virginia Beach Resort and Conference Center - Brett and Lynn - July 12th, 2008

Brett & Lynn hired me to do their wedding photography last year. Their wedding was at the Virginia Beach Resort and Conference Center up on Shore Drive. Smack on the Chesapeake Bay and the perfect time of the year for some beach time at sunset. (me likey!) It was an extremely challenging ceremony to shoot. Directly into a blazing sun. Well, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger I always say. It turned out fine (except for the big blue dot I was seeing before my eyes a couple hours after the ceremony!)
It was a Boston crowd for the most part, and I was right at home. (being from that neck of the woods originally) Loved the Boston accents flying around the room all night long.
Brett & Lynn’s friends and family were a blast to be around, a wonderful group of people. They were off to Hawaii for a two week honeymoon after their wedding which lasted till the we hours with a great DJ who kept the dance floor hopping all night long.

Looks like I ran on a bit with the pictures here and again, I didn’t even scratch the surface.
I guess I could post a bunch of the artistic shots I took, but I like people much better than inanimate objects. There’s nothing quite as facinating as the human face and the thousands of different expressions it can muster in a very short time.

The Murray Center - Wedding Photography - Wayne and Rycy - July 5th, 2008

Wayne and Rycy came to me as a referral from my friend Keith Cephus. Wayne’s a tennis pro and I posted their tennis centric engagement session a while back. This wedding took place at First Baptist Church in Norfolk (right across the street from The Scope), and the reception was just around the corner at the newly constructed Murray Center. (Hey! I Like The Name!).
It was a pleasure to shoot this wedding, lots of great people having a great time.

Lesner Inn Wedding Photography - Steve and Sabrina - June 30th, 2008

What a humbling wedding experience…
Steve and Sabrina contacted me earlier in the year to book their wedding photography. I was honored that they chose me, and simply awed by the actual event. I’ve done many weddings. This one was different.
The bride and groom were from NYC as did most of their families and friends. They rented 5 houses in Sandbridge which was where the ceremony took place. The reception was at the Lesner Inn. Friends and far flung relatives came from ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. (this one and many OTHER countries)
That doesn’t sound TOO atypical. But, about half of the guests at this wedding including some of the family members were all hearing impaired. The ceremony was signed. The lyrics to special songs were signed. The toasts were signed. Getting all these wonderful people together to shoot over 170 formal shots was exhausting. Shooting a wedding that ended up producing nearly 1100 delivered images was exhausting.
I learned a lot about humility and the strength of the human spirit this day. Even with all the pictures to follow below, it doesn’t even scratch the surface of the love and joy expressed at this wedding.
Just amazing.

And, that last picture. That’s the sign for “I Love You”. I must have seen that sign 1000 times during this wedding.
As I look through all the images, it just makes me smile.
